Our hallways are ready to fill with energy, laughter, and the joy of discovery as we open our doors to all of our new and returning students, teachers, and families. Each year brings a fresh start, and this year we are grounding everything we do in three simple, powerful principles: Choose Kindness, Be Brave, and Keep Learning.

We are thrilled to officially welcome our 6th-grade students to their new Middle School home! It has been an exciting and busy day as our newest students settled in, claimed their lockers, mastered their new locks, and had a wonderful time decorating their spaces.The halls were buzzing with energy as friends reunited, students organized their supplies, and everyone received some special MS swag to kick off the year. It was truly a pleasure to see the excitement on their faces as they embarked on this new chapter. As we begin this journey, our guiding theme for the year is: "Lead with Kindness, Act with Courage, Grow with Purpose."

The NEHS voted to create Boo Boo Boxes for all elementary classrooms along with a $350 donation to the Dumont Fire Department with our proceeds from the School Store this year. They assembled the Boo Boo Boxes and enjoyed pizza. Boo Boo Boxes will be refilled with new bandaids each marking period by NEHS students.

Today our Student Council led a celebration that was both enjoyable and informative regarding the historical significance of Revolution 250, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence, a historic milestone known as the Semiquincentennial, which will be celebrated across our nation on July 4, 2026. Honiss School is proud to participate in this observance as an official partner of New Jersey’s Revolutionary Schools program.

Our annual Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Day was a completely outstanding event for all our students! The elementary school teachers went above and beyond to create an immersive, fun, cowboy-themed experience with truly excellent stations and activities. Students saddled up to practice their SEL skills, exploring everything from a wonderfully detailed western town to a peaceful meditation room. We were amazed by the creative decorations, including the fun wanted posters, the authentic campfire and tent, and the charming cacti that brought the Wild West to life! A huge thank you to all our dedicated teachers for their incredible hard work and commitment to making this day happen. We appreciate your belief in and support for SEL every day!

Congratulations to our students who achieved Perfect Attendance for the Second Marking Period! Your dedication to being present and on time for school is truly commendable and deeply appreciated by the entire school community. We encourage you to maintain this excellent habit of being in school every day, setting a wonderful example for your peers. Well done!

Our school was delighted to host a visit from our wonderful therapy dogs today! They spent time visiting with various classes, bringing smiles to students' faces. A big thank you to Mrs. Brady (Littleman) and Mrs. Gibb (Lucy) for generously sharing their adorable pets with us!
