A grand time was had by all in the Tournament of Champions. The Orange team won the middle school division and the teachers won 4 -1 against their 8th graders.

Dr. Bennett and Mr. Dalton enjoyed reading aloud to our new kindergarten friends the book, "King of Kindergarten".

Congratulations to our 8th Grader, Janyce Ntiamoah who received the first-place student recognition award from the New Jersey Council for the Social Studies. This award is given to ONE middle school student from the seven counties in northern NJ. We are exceptionally proud of Janyce and all of her hard work and passion for social studies.

Andrew Rojas, a 4th Grader, received an honorable mention by the Bergen County Clerk for the 2022 My County Poster Contest. Andrew's artwork was selected out of 650 entries and will be featured in the Bergen County Calendar!

On Saturday, parents and students came out to support the annual Tricky Tray fundraiser. President Christine Bruno and her team planned a day of great carnival activities for students along with great basket prizes.

The Dumont Board of Education recognized the works of young artists from each of our schools on Thursday, May 19.

Kindergarten orientation was held on Wednesday and parents learned all about the developmental kindergarten curriculum, met the kindergarten teachers, and the academic specialists.

"All About You!" was the theme of our first elementary SEL Day. Students participated in SEL station activities to learn more about and practice SEL competencies. Students visited the calming room to learn breathing techniques, practice tapping, and participate in yoga flows.

NEHS Induction Ceremony: Fifteen 5th and 6th-grade students were inducted into the National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS). Students recited the honor society pledge and shared the four principles of Scholarship, Responsibility, Service, and Leadership in front of their parents and special guests.

Students worked hard this year and are delighted to share their artistic talents using a variety of mediums. Parents and students enjoyed a wonderful evening of appreciating the visual arts. Thank you to our amazing art teachers, Denise Alloca (MS) and Nicole Paduano (Elementary).
